Rambling Retreat with Night Sky Discovery

The 2-night, 3-day rambling retreat in North Cornwall offers a rejuvenating experience amidst the rugged coastline, winding countryside paths and taking in the history of the local area. Participants will have the chance to fully immerse themselves in the natural surroundings, absorbing in the beautiful blue sea, lush green fields and share all of this with a friend for FREE. That's right, free! With every full paying guest you can bring a friend, loved one and your canine friend to enjoy this experience with you.  

The retreat provides ample opportunities for self-care, meditation, and connecting with nature. Guests will have the chance to indulge in wholesome food including fresh, nourishing plant-based meals that support their well-being.

Accommodation options cater to different preferences. Those seeking comfort can choose the spacious glamping option with fresh linen, while others looking for a simpler experience can opt for camping, enjoying spacious pitches and stunning sea views.

As the day winds down, participants can gather around campfires, taking in the breathtaking sunsets and gazing at the star-studded night sky. Retreat schedule (activities and timings may change due to weather conditions):

Day 1: Arrival (from 12:00pm) and Countryside Exploration 

• Afternoon: 

Arrive at the retreat location and check-in to your chosen accommodation (glamping or camping).

Welcome tea and cake with fresh, plant-based options.

Group gathering and orientation (from 14:00pm)

Guided walk (3 miles) through the winding countryside paths, surrounded by lush green fields and natural beauty.

Opportunities for self-reflection and mindfulness along the way. 

• Evening: 

Sunset meditation session.

Stretch and dress your own homemade pizza and top with a variety of meat, vegan and plant-based options to create your own perfect pizza.

Campfire gathering for stargazing and sharing stories.

Day 2: Coastal Walk

• Morning: 

Continental breakfast with a variety of fresh fruit, yogurts, pastries and cereals. 

• Late Morning/Early Afternoon: 

Self-guided coastal walk (4 miles) along the southwest coast path from Sandymouth to Bude, with opportunities to connect with nature.

Picnic lunch at a scenic coastal spot (Northcott Mouth would be a great point to rest and grab a coffee from Sip and Sea tea gardens).

Upon arrival in Bude there will be the opportunity for a dip in Bude's historic sea pool as well as a roam around the town.

Return to the retreat base for relaxation and self-care time. 

• Evening: 

Dinner of Dal, with locally sourced produce and plant-based options.

Stargazing session with local astonomers and indoor projection show. A telescope and binoculars will be provided however if you have your own, please feel free to bring it along. 

Campfire, marshmallows and relaxation under the night sky. 

Day 3: Hawkers Hut Loop

• Morning: 

Continental breakfast with a variety of fresh fruit, yugurts, pastries and cereals

• Mid Morning:  

A short loop (2.5 miles) as we look at the history of Hawkers Hut. Immersion in the natural surroundings and exploration of historical sites. 

• Afternoon: 

There is the option to stop at the Bush Inn for a spot of lunch (not included in the price) or we can bid you farewell as you return home with a renewed connection to nature and yourself. 

What to bring:

• Suitable walking boots/shoes
• Waterproof jacket/trousers
• Clothing suitable for walking
• Swimwear/wetsuit for sea pool dip + towel
• Comfy clothes for yoga/mediation
• Warm bed clothing for glamping/camping
• Hydration bottle for walks

Canine companions:

Here at Atlantic Horizons we recognise how your dog can be an integral part of the family and therefore we would not want them to miss out on a little holiday too! Dogs are welcome to join you on retreat for no extra charge but it is important that they get to be a part of the whole process, therefore the dog must be able to join you on all of the walks as well as travel to and from the start locations either in the shared mini bus provided or in your own vehicle. Dogs must be well behaved and generally happy around other dogs. They must also be kept on a lead on the main site and there is a dog run area where they can be let off of the lead. 

NOTE: We will be walking the coast path where it is recommended that dogs remain on a lead
